General information about Kyiv Children's Railway (Kyiv)
Kyiv Children's Railway (Mala Pivdenno-Zakhidna) was opened in 1953 on the territory of the current Syretsky Park, near Babyn Yar.
The 2.8-kilometer-long road is laid along a ring road, in one place it crosses a ravine on a 20-meter-high viaduct. At the time of its opening, it had a Gr-336 steam locomotive (made in Germany) and 5 wooden wagons, later it was reequipped several times. The last reconstruction was carried out in 2001.
Trains run between two stations: "Vyshenka" and "Yablunka". The Children's Railway operates two TU-7 diesel locomotives and the same Gr-336 steam locomotive that started the history of the Children's Railway.
Open from May to August on weekends.
Київська дитяча залізниця (Мала Південно-Західна) була відкрита в 1953 році на території нинішнього Сирецького парку, неподалік Бабиного Яру.
Дорога довжиною 2,8 кілометри прокладена по кільцю, в одному місці перетинає яр по віадуку заввишки 20 метрів. На момент відкриття мала паровоз Гр-336 (виробництва Німеччини) і 5 дерев'яних вагонів, пізніше неодноразово переоснащувалася. Остання реконструкція була проведена в 2001 році.
Потяги курсують між двома станціями: "Вишенька" та "Яблунька". На Дитячій залізниці працюють два тепловози ТУ-7 і той самий паровоз Гр-336, з якого розпочиналася історія Дитячої залізниці.
Працює з травня до серпня у вихідні дні.
