General information about Men's Gymnasium (Academic Lyceum) (Skvyra)
The building of the men's gymnasium in Skvyra was built in 1909 at the expense of a patron, the engineer of the All-Russian Railways Petro Suvchynsky.
The construction was carried out according to the project of the Ukrainian architect Oleksandr Kobelev, the author of the buildings of the State Bank and the Commercial Institute in Kyiv.
The Skvyra City Men's Gymnasium was classified as one of the gymnasiums that had the best facilities in the territory of the Russian Empire. Ivan Rosoptovskyi became the first director of the educational institution in 1909, but soon he was replaced by Ivan Hryhorovych.
In 1917, a museum of local history was opened by Karl Bolsunovsky at the Skvyra Men's Gymnasium.
Now it is the Skvyra Academic Lyceum.
Будівля чоловічої гімназії в Сквирі збудована в 1909 році коштом мецената, інженера Всеросійських шляхів Петра Сувчинського.
Будівництво велося за проєктом українського архітектора Олександра Кобелєва, автора будівель Держбанку та Комерційного інституту у Києві.
Сквирську міську чоловічу гімназію відносили до розряду гімназій, які мали найкращі приміщення на території російської імперії. Першим директором навчального закладу в 1909 рці став Іван Росоптовський, але невдовзі його змінив Іван Григорович.
У 1917 році при Сквирській чоловічій гімназії Карлом Болсуновським було відкрито краєзнавчий музей.
Нині це Сквирський Академічний Ліцей.
