General information about Dnipro Academic Theater of Drama and Comedy (Dnipro)
The Dnipro Academic Theater of Drama and Comedy is located in the premises of the former Winter Theater of Katerynoslav, built in 1906-1907 in the Art Nouveau style according to the project of architect Fedir Bulatsel.
In 1927, based on the decision of the executive committee of the city council, a theater of Russian drama was created on the basis of the troupe of the Moscow Maly Theater, which was touring in the city at that time.
Before the Second World War, the theater building was reconstructed and took on more classical forms - the facade was decorated with columns, pilasters and sculptural images of art muses.
Дніпровський академічний театр драми і комедії розташований у приміщені колишнього Зимового театру Катеринослава, збудованому в 1906-1907 роках в стилі модерн за проєктом архітектора Федора Булацеля.
У 1927 році за рішенням виконкому міської ради на основі трупи московського Малого театру, що гастролювала на той час у місті, було створено театр російської драми.
Перед Другою світовою війною будівлю театру було реконструйовано й вона набула більш класичних форм - фасад прикрасили колони, пілястри та скульптурні зображення муз мистецтва.
