The Church of the Assumption of the Holy Virgin Mary was built in Novyi Bykiv in 1801-1804 in the Empire style by order of Count Kyrylo Rozumovsky, the last Hetman of Ukraine.

Хрестоподібна у плані споруда має подовжений західний притвор, який поєднується з двоярусною дзвіницею. Західний, південний та північний входи оформлені чотириколонними портиками тосканського ордену з трикутними фронтонами. Церква увінчує напівсферичний купол із глухим ліхтариком.

Своїми формами храм ідентичний Воскресенській церкві в Батурині, резиденції Розумовського.
