General information about Saint George's Church (Selyshche)
The wooden church of Saint Great Martyr George was built in the village of Selyshche in 1910-1914 at the expense of Cossack landowners.
A sample of Cossack cult architecture of the beginning of the 20th century. Five domes give the unusual strength and fundamentality of the building, and the four auxiliary ones are almost as large as the main one.
In Soviet times, a granary was located here. Officially, the Church of Saint George does not belong to the monuments of architecture.
Дерев'яна церква святого великомученика Георгія побудована в селі Селище у 1910-1914 роках коштом козаків-земельників.
Зразок козацької культової архітектури початку ХХ століття. Незвичайну міць і фундаментальність будівлі надають п'ять куполів, причому чотири допоміжні за величиною майже не поступаються головному.
За радянських часів тут розміщувалося зерносховище. Офіційно Свято-Георгіїївська церква до пам'яток архітектури не належить.
