General information about Ukrainian Stamps Museum named after Yakiv Balaban (Vinnytsia)
The Ukrainian Stamps Museum named after Yakiv Balaban was opened in 2016 in the building of the Vinnytsia Regional Children's Library.
The exposition was created on the basis of the stamp collection of patron Oleksandr Balaban, the son of UNR centurion Yakiv Balaban, who emigrated to the USA.
Unique examples of Ukrainian postal history, stamps of various historical periods - revolutionary 20s, pre-war 40s, letters with stamps of 1918, ZUNR stamps for three crowns, modern blocks, etc. are presented.
Also, the exhibition has miniatures from limited collections, which today exist only in a few copies in the world.
Музей Української марки імені Якова Балабана відкрито в 2016 році в будівлі Вінницької обласної дитячої бібліотеки.
Експозиція створена на основі колекції марок мецената Олександра Балабана, сина сотника УНР Якова Балабана, який емігрував до США.
Представлені унікальні зразки української поштової історії, марки різних історичних періодів – революційних 20-х, передвоєнних 40-х, листи зі штемпелями 1918 року, марки ЗУНР за три крони, сучасні блоки тощо.
Також експозиція має мініатюри з лімітованих колекцій, які сьогодні існують лише у кількох примірниках у світі.
