Holy Intercession Cathedral, Zaporizhzhia

The Holy Intercession Cathedral is the main Orthodox shrine of Zaporizhzhia.

The cathedral was rebuilt on the site of the five-headed stone Intercession temple destroyed by the Bolsheviks (the Komsomolsky recreation park was laid on its site).

The exterior and magnificent interiors of the Holy Intercession Cathedral are reproduced from old photographs.

Belongs to the UOC of the Moscow Patriarchate.

On the night of October 18, 2023, as a result of a series of missile strikes by the Russian army on Zaporizhzhia, the Pokrovsky Holy Intercession Cathedral suffered significant damage - all the windows were broken, the window frames were broken, and the facade was damaged.

Свято-Покровський кафедральний собор - головна православна святиня Запоріжжя.

Собор відновлено на місці зруйнованого більшовиками п'ятиголового кам'яного Покровського храму (на його місці було закладено парк відпочинку Комсомольський).

Зовнішній вигляд та чудові інтер'єри Свято-Покровського кафедрального собору відтворені за старими фотографіями.

Належить до УПЦ московського патріархату.

В ніч проти 18 жовтня 2023 року внаслідок серії ракетних ударів російською армією по Запоріжжю, Покровський кафедральний собор зазнав суттєвих руйнувань - було вибиті всі шибки, зламані віконні рами та пошкоджено фасад.
