General information about Saint Joseph Church (Mykolaiv)
The RomanCatholic Church of Saint Joseph was built at the expense of Catholic parishioners in 1896 according to the project of the architect Vladyslav Dombrovskyi.
In 1934, the church was closed by the Bolsheviks. A local lore museum was housed in a nearby building on the territory - one of the first museums of antiquities in the territory of the former Russian Empire (founded in 1803, more than 160,000 exhibits were collected: antiquities from Olbia, instruments of Kyivan Rus, Cossack weapons, etc.).
Since 1992, services have been resumed in the Saint Joseph Church. In recent years, an organ has been installed, and organ music concerts are held. In the yard - a collection of stone women.
Римо-католицький костел Святого Йосипа споруджено в Миколаєві коштом парафіян-католиків у 1896 році за проєктом архітектора Владислава Домбровського.
В 1934 році костел був закритий більшовиками. В сусідній будівлі на території було розміщено краєзнавчий музей - один із перших музеїв старожитностей на території колишньої російської імперії (заснований в 1803 році, зібрано понад 160 тисяч експонатів: предмети античності з Ольвії, інструменти Київської Русі, зброю козацтва та інше.).
З 1992 року в костелі святого Йосипа відновлено богослужіння. Останніми роками встановлено орган, відбуваються концерти органної музики. У дворі - колекція кам'яних баб.
