General information about Saints Joachim and Anna Church (Volodymyr)
The parish church of Saints Joachim and Anne in Volodymyr was built in 1752 by Bishop Adam Wojna Orański. It is located on the site of a previous wooden Roman Catholic church, founded in 1554 with the support of Princess Anna of Zbarazh.
The three-nave basilica with two towers on the main facade is made in the strict forms of the late Baroque. The basements, covered with cylindrical vaults, have been preserved.
In 1958, the church was closed, first a furniture store was arranged in it, and later a concert hall and a coffee shop. Only in 1992 was the church returned to the local Roman Catholics.
It is part of the State Historical and Cultural Reserve "Ancient Volodymyr".
Парафіяльний костел святих Йоакима і Анни у Володимирі збудований в 1752 році єпископом Адамом Война-Оранським. Розташовується на місці попереднього дерев'яного римо-католицького храму, заснованого в 1554 році за підтримки княгині Анни Збаразької.
Тринафтова базиліка з двома вежами на головному фасаді виконана у строгих формах пізнього бароко. Збереглися підвали, перекриті циліндричними склепіннями.
У 1958 році костел закрили, облаштувавши у ньому спочатку меблевий магазин, а згодом – концертний зал та кав'ярню. Лише у 1992 році храм повернули місцевим римо-католикам.
Входить до складу Державного історико-культурного заповідника "Стародавній Володимир".
