It was built in the 18th century at the same time as two other stone churches on the initiative of the Kytaihorod centurion Pavlo Semenov.

Збудована в XVIII сторіччі одночасно зі ще двома кам'яними церквами з ініціативи китайгородського сотника Павла Семенова.

Потужна двоярусна вежа домінує над спорудою. Спочатку служила дзвіницею, входила до системи міських укріплень, потім була перебудована на церкву.

Варваринську церкву було закрито в 1954 році, тривалий час залишалася в запустінні. Наново освячена в 1996 році.
