Temple , Architecture
The wooden church of the Kazan Icon of the Holy Virgin was built in the village of Pishcha in 1801 on the very shore of Lake Pishcha.
Architecturally, it is similar in type to the Slobozhanshchyna wooden temples, and even reflects the trends of Moscow architecture of the 19th and 20th centuries. During the reconstruction in 1912, the original three-part structure was supplemented with two side log cabins. Gabled roofs are topped with stylized capitals. A three-tier bell tower is adjacent to the babinets.
During the Second World War, the bells were removed and submerged in the lake, but after the war they were returned to their places. During its more than century-long history, the Kazan temple has never been closed. He currently belongs to the Orthodox Church of Ukraine.
