Morozivsky Coal Mine

The Morozivsky coal mine is one of the two "graveyards of excavators" in the Oleksandriia area, where you can see unique mining equipment.

The Morozivsky quarry is located near the village of Pantaivka, west of Oleksandriia. Commissioned in 1970. It was one of the largest lignite quarries in the country. The planned capacity is 2.75 million tons of brown coal per year.

In 2004, production stopped due to financial problems of the enterprise, which was decided to be liquidated. The quarry is gradually flooded with groundwater. Unique mining equipment is cut into scrap. In particular, the giant step-rail rotary excavator ERSHR-1600 with a weight of about 4,000 tons and a productivity of 1,600 cubic meters per hour.

From one bank of the quarry to the other, the only transport and disposal bridge in Ukraine with a length of more than 300 meters has been thrown. The bridge and two excavators are pre-war, German-made.
