Attractions of Verkhnii Yaseniv

The private photo museum "Hutsul Multicolor" was opened in 2022 by Svitlana Opruk, a resident of the village of Verkhnii Yaseniv.

The exhibition is housed in an old Hutsul hut from 1917, which is located on a steep mountain slope above the village.

In the first room, copies of miraculous icons from various monasteries of Western Ukraine are presented.

The exposition of the second room combines an exhibition of beadwork, a collection of Hutsul household items, and a selection of old Hutsul photographs.

The third room-terrace is a photo location where you can take a picture in Hutsul clothing and taste Carpathian tea with a view of the Pysanyi Kamin rock.

The "Kotsyubynskyi" Art Space Museum in Verkhnii Yaseniv opened in 2024 as a bookstore-cafe. It is located on the banks of the Chorniy Cheremosh River at the entrance to the village from the Kryvorivnia side.

The institution is dedicated to the figure of the outstanding Ukrainian writer Mykhaylo Kotsyubynskyi, who in 1911 visited ethnographer Volodymyr Hnatyuk in Kryvorivnia. Here he collected and wrote down in detail information about the way of life of the Hutsuls, their customs, beliefs, folklore, which became the basis of his most famous work "Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors".

Initially, the institution functions as a cafe, bookstore and art space. There is a reading room, a terrace and access to the river. An interactive museum will be opened soon, where a private collection of books and objects will be presented, productions and theatrical performances will take place, as well as an audiovisual reproduction of the works of Mykhaylo Kotsiubynskyi.

The Verkhnii Yaseniv Village History Museum was opened in 2021 at the expense of the public and with the support of the National Nature Park "Verkhovynskyi".

The exposition tells about the history, culture and daily life of the village, as well as about prominent natives of Verkhniy Yaseniv, including the famous molfar Mykhaylo Nechay and the Hutsul virtuoso musician Roman Kumlyk.

Historical photographs, a map of Lesya Ukrayinka and Ivan Franko's stay and routes in the Verkhovyna region, and household items of the Hutsuls are presented.
