The city of Kopychyntsi on the Nichlava River is located 15 kilometers from Chortkiv in the direction of Ternopil.
Known since the 14th century as Kopachyn. There is no unequivocal version about the origin of the name. According to Polish sources, it was the ancestral seat of noblemen of the Kopach coat of arms. In 1443, Yan Kopychynskyi founded the first stone temple here. At that time, the Kopychyntsi Castle already existed (not preserved). In 1564, Kopychyntsi received Magdeburg law and city status.

Assumption of Virgin Mary Church

The Roman Catholic Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary was built in Kopychyntsi in 1802 by the Bavorsky magnates, who owned the city, as a family tomb.
The first Catholic church, which existed since 1443, was destroyed in the 17th century.
Three-nave temple. In 1846, a stucco altar with figures of Peter and Paul was built. In the underground part are the remains of the tomb of the Bavorsky.
During the Soviet era, the church was closed, revived in 1991.
Exaltation of Holy Cross of Lord Church

The wooden church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross of the Lord is located in the southern part of the city of Kopychyntsi, in the former suburb of Kutets.
It was built in 1630 (legend attributes the construction to Ukrainian Cossacks, although the city was under the control of the troops of Bohdan Khmelnytsky a little later - in 1648-1652).
There is a small wooden bell tower nearby.

The Kopychyntsi Theater Museum of Ternopil region was founded in 1968 on the initiative of Orest Savka, the director of the Bohdan Lepky Kopychynsky People's Amateur Drama Theater.
His collection of materials about the history of the theater life of the region became the basis of the exposition, which is located in 7 halls of the House of Culture. The exhibition tells about the origins of the birth of Ukrainian theater from the depths of the centuries, about the "Rus Conversation" theater society in Galicia from 1864-1924, about "Ternopil Theater Evenings" - the first professional stationary Ukrainian theater in Ternopil from 1915-1917, about the Kopychyna People's Drama Theater named after Bohdan Lepky.
Photographs, pictorial and graphic paintings, dolls, posters, sketches of scenery and costumes, models of scenery, theatrical costumes, furniture, etc. are presented.
There is a theater cafe at the museum.
