Kukilnyky

The village of Kukilnyky on the Bybelka River is located 15 kilometers northeast of Halych.

The first written mention of the village dates back to 1421 (according to other data, to 1212). Kukilnyky was the residence of Galicia (later Lviv) metropolitans, there was a castle here. In the 15th century, the first church was built, and in 1732, the stone church of Saint John the Evangelist, Mary Magdalene and 40 martyrs was built.

In the 18th and 20th centuries, Kukilnyky was the center of the deanery of the Roman Catholic Church. The Greek Catholic Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary was built in 1991-1992 on the site of the old Assumption Church, founded in 1718 and dismantled in the 1960s.

Село Кукільники на річці Бибелька розташоване в 15 кілометрах на північний схід від Галича.

Перша письмова згадка про село відноситься до 1421 року (за іншими даними - до 1212 року). Кукільники були резиденцією галицьких (потім львівських) митрополитів, тут був замок. В XV сторіччі було збудовано перший костел, а в 1732 році споруджено кам'яний костел Святого Івана Євангеліста, Марії Магдалини і 40 мучеників.

В XVIII-XX століттях Кукільники були центром деканату римсько-католицької церкви. Греко-католицька церква Введення Діви Марії побудована в 1991-1992 роках на місці старого Введенського храму, заснованого в 1718 році та розібраного в 1960-х роках.
