The village of Krynychne is located on the shore of Yalpuh, the largest freshwater lake in Ukraine, 20 kilometers south of Bolhrad.
It was founded in 1813 by Bulgarian settlers on the site of the Tatar camp of Cheshme-Varuita (which translates as "whitened spring"). Until 1947, it was called Chushmeliy or Cheshmeli ("Cheshme" - source, well).
In 1936, Saint George's Church was built.
The private winemaking enterprise "Kolonist" is located in the village of Krynychne.
Село Криничне розташоване на березі найбільшого в Україні прісноводного озера Ялпуг в 20 кілометрах на південь від Болграда.
Засноване в 1813 році болгарськими поселенцями на місці татарського табору Чешме-Варуіта (що в перекладі означає "побілене джерело"). До 1947 року носило назву Чушмелій або Чешмелі ( "Чешме" - джерело, криниця).
В 1936 році була зведена Георгіївська церква.

"Kolonist" winery in Krynychne near Bolhrad was founded in 2005 by entrepreneur Ivan Plachkov, former minister of fuel and energy.
The production of Bessarabian wines was established here according to classical technology on modern equipment. The company owns 21 hectares of young vineyards and 60 hectares of vineyards about 35 years old.
"Kolonist" winery annually produces about 130,000 bottles of 10 types of wine. There is a wine center with a tasting room, where you can taste the wines of the entire line of the "Colonist" brand: Chardonnay, Sukholimanske, Traminer, Aligote, Riesling, Pinot Noir, Cabernet dessert, Cabernet dry, Merlot, Odesa black dry, Odesa black dessert, Odesa black seasoned
