Khmilnyk district (Khmilnytskyi) is located in the northern part of Vinnytsia region, on the territory of historical Podillya. The Southern Buh River flows within the district.
There are such historical and cultural monuments as Khmilnytsky Castle and the Palace of Count Xido, the Kholonevsky Palace in Ivaniv, Kozyatyn Railway Station. The area is known as one of the centers of winemaking in Podillya.
The administrative center of Khmilnytskyi district is the resort town of Khmilnyk, famous for its radon healing springs of mineral waters. The area of the district is more than 3700 square kilometers. The population of the district exceeds 188 thousand people.
