Rusyliv

The small village of Rusyliv is located near the Strypa River, 15 km south of Buchach.

According to legend, it was founded by refugees from the lands above the Ros river (Ross, Rus, Rusyns) during the Polovtsian raids, which is why the name Rusyliv is connected.

Known since the 16th century. In 1621, a wooden church was built, and in 1934, a stone temple of the Most Holy Theotokos was built nearby.

During the Second World War, UPA detachments operated in the vicinity. After the war, all residents were forcibly relocated to the eastern regions of the country for cooperation with the "Banderivtsi". Part of the residents later returned, the village is gradually reviving.
