The village of Berezyna is located at the entrance to Zhytomyr from the Kyiv side, next to the junction for the Zhytomyr bypass.
It was founded on the lands of the Symyrenko tycoons by immigrants from a neighboring village in 1910, during the Stolypin agrarian reform. However, as early as the 18th century, there was a post office here, for which a new neo-Gothic building was built in 1846, similar to other typical post offices on the Brest-Lytovske highway.
Road service infrastructure is also actively developing in the village.
Postal Station
Architecture
The postal station in Berezyna, on the 121st kilometer of the Brest-Litovsky highway, was built in 1846 according to the exemplary project of "Houses of the II class with a hotel", a characteristic feature of which is the arrow windows in the neo-Gothic style.
The original details of the porch decoration have been preserved: granite steps, patterned canopy brackets above the door.
In 1941, the postal station housed the headquarters of the German army that was advancing on Kyiv.
