Katerynivka

The village of Katerynivka is located 30 kilometers northwest of Lebedyn, 10 kilometers from the Kyiv - Sumy highway.

It is known from the second half of the 17th century, when these lands belonged to Hetman Pavlo Polubotko. In 1743, they became the property of Count Vasyl Kapnist, a Greek by origin who distinguished himself in military service in the tsarist army. Eagle trotters, which were bred in the county stables, were grazed on large virgin meadows around the ancestral estate of the Kapnists in Mykhailivka.
