The village of Sloboda is located on the northern outskirts of Kaharlyk.
Known since 1792 as Kaharlytska Sloboda, a tax-free settlement founded by descendants of refugees from Polish oppression returning from the Left Bank.
At the beginning of the 19th century, Sloboda belonged to the estate of Dmytro Troshchynsky, the Minister of Justice in the government of the Russian Emperor Alexander I.
In 1852, Major General Andriy Troshchynskyi built the church of Saint Anna in the village, which has survived to this day.
