Staiky

The village of Staiky is located on the high right bank of the Dnieper between Trypillia and Rzhyshchiv, 60 kilometers southeast of Kyiv. Administratively, it is part of the Rzhyshchiv Territorial Hromada of Obukhiv District, Kyiv Region.

The first settlements on this territory belong to the Trypillya and Chernyakhiv cultures. The ancient Rus settlement in the north-eastern part of the village is identified with the historical city of Svyatopolch or Novhorod-Svyatopolchyi, which was founded in 1095 by Prince Svyatopolk Izyaslavych.

In Polish times, the village belonged to the Hlynskyi princes, then to the Brzozowski magnates. In 1649, Staiky became the hundredth town of the Kaniv regiment. In 1707, Hetman Ivan Mazepa presented Staiky to the Brethren Monastery.

During the events of the Ukrainian Revolution in July-August 1919, the insurgent unit of Otaman Zelenyi (Green) - Danylo Terpylo - operated on the territory of the village.

A lake with blue clay, which is considered healing, has formed on the site of the former clay quarries of the brick factory in the northern part of the village.

Село Стайки розташоване на високому правому березі Дніпра між Трипіллям я Ржищевом, за 60 кілометрів на південний схід від Києва. Адміністративно входить до складу Ржищівської територіальної громади Обухівського району Київської області.

На місці колишніх глиняних кар'єрів цегельного заводу в північній частині села утворилося озеро з блакитною глиною, яку вважають цілющою.
