Kamyaneche

The village of Kamyaneche on the Kamyanka River is located in the north of the Kirovohrad region, between Holovanivsk and Talne, 55 kilometers from the district center. Administratively, it is a part of the Novoarkhanhelsk settlement hromada of the Holovanivsk district of the Kirovohrad region.

From the end of the 16th to the beginning of the 17th century, the village was known as Semyrichya or Semyrichka, because in this place the Kamyanka River is formed from seven small tributaries. It was one of the Cossack outposts to protect Ukrainian lands from the devastating raids of the Turks and Tatars, which later became a Cossack winter camp.

The village of Kamyaneche on the Kamyanka River is located in the north of the Kirovohrad region, between Holovanivsk and Talne, 55 kilometers from the district center. Administratively, it is a part of the Novoarkhanhelsk settlement hromada of the Holovanivsk district of the Kirovohrad region.

From the end of the 16th to the beginning of the 17th century, the village was known as Semyrichya or Semyrichka, because in this place the Kamyanka River is formed from seven small tributaries. It was one of the Cossack outposts to protect Ukrainian lands from the devastating raids of the Turks and Tatars, which later became a Cossack winter camp.

The history of Kamyaneche is closely related to the Koliivshchyna. Villagers took a direct part in the Haydamaks movement. Forges where rebel weapons were made were located here, in the local forest Maksym Zaliznyak's henchmen were preparing for the assault on Uman. In 1968, a memorial sign was opened on the outskirts of the village in the tract "Chala Hora" in honor of the 200th anniversary of the Koliivshchyna.

In the 19th century, the Chumak's road ran through the village. The Holodomor of 1932-1933 claimed the lives of 1,582 villagers. In 1992, a memorial sign was opened to the victims of the Holodomor and Stalin's repressions.
