The Shepylove village on the Svynartsia River is located three kilometers east of Holovanivsk. Administratively, it is part of the Holovanivsk hromada of the Holovanivsk district of the Kirovohradsky region.

The first written mention of the village dates back to 1764. At that time it was the property of the Potocki Polish magnates. In the 19th century, Shepylove was part of the Holovanivsk Volost of the Balta District of the Podillya Province.
