The village of Kalnybolota on the Vilshanka River is located in the north of the Kirovohrad region, between Novomyrhorod and Uman. Administratively, it is a part of the Nadlak village hromada of Golovanivsk district, Kirovohrad region.
According to some data, the Cossack settlement on the river, which was then called Kalnybolotka, existed as early as the first half of the 18th century. The current village was founded in the early 1750s during the colonization of these lands by the Russian Empire. For some time, it was a fortified military settlement and was called the Fifth Company, because a company of the Novoserbian hussar regiment was stationed here.

The People's Museum of the Kalnybolota Village History has been operating at the Kalnybolota Village House of Culture since Soviet times.
The exposition tells about the history of the settlement from the time of the founding of the wax settlements on these areas in the 18th century.
