In 1829, the Pskov regiment was quartered on this territory, and since then the name of the regiment was transferred to the settlement, which became known as Novopskov. In 2024, in accordance with the requirements of the law of Ukraine "On condemnation and prohibition of propaganda of Russian imperial policy in Ukraine and decolonization of toponymy", the village of Novopskov was renamed Aidar.
