Pripyat

Pripyat is a ghost city, preserved in 1986 after the accident at the Chornobyl nuclear power plant and the creation of a 30-kilometer exclusion zone.

It was founded in 1970 for the residence of builders and service personnel of the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant, which was launched in 1984. At the time of the disaster, the population of Pripyat was 49,000. After the explosion at the station, all residents of the city were evacuated. Roadblocks are installed at the entrances, visits are possible only with special passes.

Despite the increased security, over the years the city has been subject to looting and looting.
