The village of Zhytni Hory is a northern settlement of Rokytne.
According to legend, in the Cossack times, a great battle between the rebel Cossacks and the troops of the Polish nobility took place in these places. On the mass graves of the dead Cossacks, kurgans (mountains) were piled up, which have been preserved to this day in the Mohyla tract north of the village. Later, they began to sow rye on the mounds, which is where the name of the village of Zhytni Hory came from.
The village has been known since the 18th century as the property of the Branitskyi count family. In 1766, the wooden church of Saint Joseph the Betrothed was founded, which has survived to this day in a rebuilt form.
