"Koka" Museum-Workroom of Strynadyuk Family

Museum / gallery

The museum of the Strynadyuk creative family in Kosiv was opened by the famous Ukrainian master carver Mykola Strynadyuk, who works under the creative pseudonym "Koka", at his creative workroom.

Mykola Strynadyuk was born and grew up in a Kosiv family of artisan carvers, studied at the Kosiv Technical School of Folk Art Crafts, and worked as a master of wood carving and interior design all his life. His sons Bohdan and Zakhar continue the family business. Mykola Strynadyuk's works are distinguished by the author's technique, which combines traditional techniques of carving with toning, application and even embroidery.

The exposition presents more than a hundred of the master's own works. Among them are ornamental icons, plates, paintings, copies of Hutsul hand crosses, traditional zgards and modern decorations. A collection of antique and rare porcelain cups is also presented.

Nearby is the Museum of Sacred Art, where the works of Taras Strynadyuk, Mykola's brother, are presented.
