The village of Pukhivka on the left bank of the Desna River is located 15 kilometers northeast of Kyiv, not far from the Troyeshchyna microdistrict.
Known since 980 as the town of Desnyanske, founded by Prince Volodymyr the Great. Later it was called Komarivka and belonged to the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra. Residents bred waterfowl and processed bird down, which is where the current name came from.
In 1808, the Church of the Intercession was founded. The current Intercession Church was built in 2002-2011.
Село Пухівка на лівому березі річки Десна розташоване в 15 кілометрах на північний схід від Києва, недалеко від мікрорайону Троєщина.
Відоме з 980 року як Деснянське містечко, засноване князем Володимиром Великим. Пізніше називалося Комарівка, належало Києво-Печерській лаврі. Жителі розводили водоплавних птахів і займалися переробкою пташиного пуху, звідки пішло нинішня назва.
В 1808 році заснована Покровська церква. Нинішній Покровський храм побудований в 2002-2011 роках.
Intercession of Holy Virgin Church

Built in 1808 in the Pukhivka village, the Church of the Intercession of the Holy Virgin was rebuilt several times during its existence.
In the 1930s, the Intercession Church was almost completely destroyed by the Bolsheviks. It was restored in 2005 and belonged to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate.
In 2024, the religious community of the parish of the Intercession of the Mother of God by a majority vote joined the Orthodox Church of Ukraine.
