Litky

The picturesque village of Litky at the confluence of the Lyubych River with the Desna River is located 30 kilometers north of Kyiv.

It was first mentioned in 1426 as the property of Prince Dmytro Soroka. According to one of the versions, it could be the prince's summer residence, as the name suggests. In the 17th century, Litky had the status of a town.

At the church of Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker (burned down in the 19th century), the Litky  brotherhood operated, and the Litky Gospel (16th century) was kept here. The modern Church of the Intercession is being rebuilt on the site of a church destroyed by the Bolsheviks in the 19th century.

Мальовниче село Літки при впадінні річки Любич в Десну розташоване в 30 кілометрах на північ від Києва.

Вперше згадується в 1426 році як власність князя Дмитра Сороки. За однією з версій, тут могла бути літня княжа резиденція, про що говорить назва. В XVII сторіччі Літки мали статус містечка.

При церкві Святого Миколая Чудотворця (згоріла в XIX столітті) діяло Літківське братство, тут зберігалося Літківське Євангеліє (XVI століття). Сучасна Покровська церква відновлюється на місці зруйнованого більшовиками храму XIX століття.
