The village of Lukashi on the Sukhoberezytsya River is located 10 kilometers south of highway N-07 "Kyiv - Sumy", 65 kilometers east of Kyiv.
It was founded at the beginning of the 17th century by the Lukash family, immigrants from the Right Bank. It belonged to the Berezan hundred of the Pereyaslav regiment. By the end of the century, the village was owned by Pereyaslav colonel Rodion Dmytroshko-Raich, then by his descendants. At the same time, the Saint Michael's Church was founded.
The current wooden church of Archangel Michael was built in 1892-1896.
Село Лукаші на річці Сухоберезиця розташоване в 10 кілометрах на південь від траси Н-07 "Київ - Суми", в 65 кілометрах на схід від Києва.
Засноване на початку XVII сторіччя родиною Лукашів, переселенцями з Правобережжя. Входило до Березанської сотні Переяславського полку. До кінця століття село перейшло у володіння переяславського полковника Родіона Дмитрашка-Райча, потім його нащадків. Тоді ж була заснована Михайлівська церква.
Нинішній дерев'яний храм Архангела Михайла побудований в 1892-1896 роках.

The wooden church of Archangel Michael was built in Lukashi in 1892-1896 on the site of the old Michael's Church, known since the 17th century.
The five-domed temple has architecture typical for those times.
In 1931, the Bolsheviks closed the church, the premises were used as a granary. During the German occupation, worship services were resumed, and the church has not been closed since then.
The parish of Saint Archangel Michael belongs to the Orthodox Church of Ukraine.
