Moshchun

The forest village of Moshchun on the Moshchunka River (Shcherbynchik) is located 10 kilometers north of Puscha-Vodytsia near Kyiv.

It has been known since 1656 as the property of the Mezhyhirsky Monastery.

Between Moshchun and Horodenka, several pillboxes of the Kyiv Ukrai District (KyUR) have been preserved. In Soviet times, the recreation center of the "Mayak" plant was located on the shore of the forest pond. Now the lake is surrounded by cottage towns and a modern suburban hotel complex.

Thanks to the beautiful rural landscapes and proximity to Kyiv, Moshchun often becomes a location for filming. Here was the house where the TV series "Matchmakers" was filmed for several seasons (burned down in 2019).
