Vyshneve

Vyshneve is a satellite city of Kyiv. It is located on the southwestern outskirts of Kyiv, just beyond the district.

The official date of establishment is 1887, when the "Zhuliany" station was opened during the construction of the South-Western Railway. In the interwar period, the station became a base for the construction of Kyiv's defensive fortifications - trains with building materials for DOTs arrived here. In 1941, the garrisons of these DOTs put up fierce resistance to the advancing units of the Wehrmacht.

In 1960, the station "Zhuliany" with the surrounding villages was renamed to the village of Vyshneve, and in 1971 it was granted the status of a city.
