Stoianka

The village of Stoianka is located at the exit from Kyiv towards Zhytomyr.

Known since the 17th century. A popular direction of suburban cottage construction. In the forest near the village there is a recreation area with fishing on the lake.

Since the beginning of the large-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, Stoianka has been subjected to powerful airstrikes by Russia, which led to large-scale destruction (about 60% of the village was destroyed) and the death of local residents. On the night of February 26, a bridge across the Irpin River on the way to Kyiv was blown up.
