General information about Shubkiv
The village of Shubkiv on the Horyn River is located 25 kilometers northeast of Rivne.
It was first mentioned in 1445 in the description of the Lutsk castle. Belonged to the Polish Chaplych family, then Potocki, Lyubomyrskyi, Valevskyi. In 1629, the wooden Saint Nicolas church was founded, which was later moved to the cemetery.
In 1870, Shubkiv came into the possession of the Russian noblewoman Yevheniya Shenshyna from the Arsenyev family, the widow of Colonel Mykola Shenshyn. Вперше згадується в 1445 року в описі Луцького замку. Належало польському роду Чапличів, потім Потоцьким, Любомирським, Валевським. В 1629 році була заснована дерев'яна Миколаївська церква, яку пізніше було перенесено на кладовище.

Arsenyev Estate

The Arsenyev estate in Shubkiv was built in the 19th century. The two-story building was rebuilt in Soviet times and housed the village council.
An outbuilding with an original roof has also been preserved. A giant chestnut tree 26 meters high grows in the yard.

Holy Intercession Church

The Church of the Holy Intercession in Shubkiv was founded in 1770 by the owner of the village, Yevheniya Shenshyna, on the site of the old wooden Saint Nicolas Church, which was moved to the cemetery.
After Shenshyna's death, the construction of the church was completed by her brother, Admiral Dmytro Arsenyev. Icons for the church were painted by the artist Vasylyev. A four-tier bell tower was built separately from the temple. There was a clock with chimes.
The Church of the Intercession of the Holy Virgin in Shubkiv was considered one of the best in the Volyn province. Currently reconstructed.

Saint Nicholas Church

A small wooden church of Saint Nicholas was built in the central square of Shubkiv in 1629.
In 1870, when the village came under the ownership of Princess Yevheniya Shenshyna from the Arsenyev family, a new church was built on the site of the old Saint Nicholas church, and the old one was moved to the village cemetery with the help of oak logs.
Now it is an active church in the name of Saint Nicholas.
