Kremenchuk

The city of Kremenchuk is located on both banks of the Dnipro connected by a two-story road and railway bridge (1872-1949).

Known since 1571 as a wooden fortress on the granite spurs of the Dnipro, in the 18th century it became a center of shipbuilding. Most of the historical buildings were destroyed during the Second World War.

In the right-bank part of the city (the former city of Kryukiv), the Church of the Assumption of the Mother of God (1877), next to it a school building (1897), the house of the merchant Churkin on Prykhodka Street (1903), and some other secular buildings of the XIX-XX centuries have been preserved.
