The village of Mokiivka on the Vergunka River is located between Pyryatyn and Chornukhy.
Known since the 17th century. According to legend, it was founded by the Cossack Mokiy, who came from the town of Kurinka. Since the 18th century, it belonged to the landowners Samoilovych.
The Zemstvo school, which was built in 1913 according to the project of the architect Opanas Slastion in the style of Ukrainian Art Nouveau, has been preserved.
Село Мокіївка на річці Вергунка розташоване між Пирятином і Чорнухами.
Відоме з XVII сторіччя. За легендою, засноване козаком Мокієм, який прибув з містечка Курінька. З XVIII століття належало поміщикам Самойловичам.
Збереглася земська школа, яку в 1913 р оці було збудовано за проєктом архітектора Опанаса Сластіона в стилі українського модерну.
