Convenient approaches to the water were made for groups with reduced mobility and special fountains were installed to ensure comfortable conditions for all visitors.

Obolonskyi Island in Kyiv continues to develop as an important recreation center of the capital. Special attention is paid here to creating conditions for less mobile population groups, reports the press service of the Kyiv City State Administration.

"Specialized sensory fountains, paths with a hard surface have been installed on the island, and accessible recreation areas have been arranged. This allows groups of the population with limited mobility to move comfortably and spend time in nature," the message says.

Specialized fishing bridges were also built on the island. As noted in the press service of the KCSA, these bridges provide an opportunity for active recreation on the water for visitors of all ages and contribute to the development of fishing tourism.

"The main direction of the island's development is aimed at creating conditions for social and psychological rehabilitation. The combination of natural resources and new infrastructure creates conditions for restoring strength and improving general well-being," the administration emphasizes.

It is worth noting that the "Wave Bridge", which connects the "Natalka" park with the "Obolonskyi Island" recreation area, was also designed taking into account the norms of architectural accessibility. Opened in May 2024, the bridge made it possible to significantly increase the rest and recreation area of ​​Kyiv.

"На острові встановили спеціалізовані сенсорні фонтани, доріжки з твердим покриттям, а також облаштували доступні місця відпочинку. Це дозволяє маломобільним групам населення комфортно переміщатися та проводити час на природі", – йдеться у повідомленні.

Також на острові облаштували спеціалізовані містки для риболовлі. Як зазначають у пресслужбі КМДА, ці містки забезпечують можливість активного відпочинку на воді для відвідувачів різного віку та сприяють розвитку риболовного туризму.

"Основний напрям розвитку острова спрямований на створення умов для соціально-психологічної реабілітації. Комбінація природних ресурсів і нової інфраструктури створює умови для відновлення сил та покращення загального самопочуття", – наголошують в адміністрації.

Варто відзначити, що "Міст-хвиля", який сполучає парк "Наталка" з рекреаційною зоною "Острів Оболонський", також спроєктований з урахуванням норм архітектурної доступності. Відкритий у травні 2024 року міст дозволив значно збільшити зону відпочинку та рекреації Києва.
