General information about Puppet Theater (Colonel's House) (Chernivtsi)
"The Colonel's House" is one of the first stone residential buildings in Chernivtsi. Built in 1782, it was named after its first resident.
At the end of the 19th century, an officer's casino was located here. In the Romanian period, the building was called the "Officer's Club". During the Soviet era, the premises were used by the "House of Political Enlightenment".
Since 1983, the Chernivtsi Regional Academic Puppet Theater has been located here. During its existence, the theater performed more than 100 performances. The performances "Buka", "How the fox tricked the bear", "Baby elephant" are considered the best.
"Будинок полковника" - одна з перших кам'яних житлових будівель Чернівців. Побудована в 1782 році, назву отримало за чином його першого мешканця.
В кінці ХІХ століття тут розташовувалося офіцерське казино. В румунський період будинок називався "Офіцерським клубом". За часів радянської влади приміщення використовувалося "Будинком політичної просвіти".
З 1983 року тут розмістився Чернівецький обласний академічний театр ляльок. За час свого існування театр здійснив більше 100 вистав. Найкращими вважаються спектаклі "Бука", "Як лисиця ведмедя обманювала", "Слоненя".
