Exaltation of Cross Church, Nizhyn

The Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross in Maherka (former suburb of Nizhyn) was built in 1775 on the site of an old wooden church as a burial place for Colonel Petro Razumovskyi at the expense of his wife.

The church is tetraconch with four apses.

In 1860, a warm church with a two-story bell tower was completed from the west, connected to the main volume by a long hall, according to the project of the Falovych county surveyor.

In Soviet times, the temple premises were used as a cinema hall and film storage. In 1991, the Church of the Exaltation of the Cross was handed over to the UOC of the Moscow Patriarchate.

Хрестовоздвиженська церква на Магерці (колишнє передмістя Ніжина) побудована в 1775 році на місці старого дерев'яного храму як усипальниця полковника Петра Разумовського коштом його вдови.

Церква тетраконхова з чотирма апсидами.

У 1860 році за проєктом землеміра повіту Фаловича із заходу добудовано теплу церкву з двоярусною дзвіницею, поєднану з основним об'ємом довгою залою.

За радянських часів приміщення храму використовувалося як кінозал і фільмосховище. У 1991 році Хрестовоздвиженську церкву було передано УПЦ московського патріархату.
