General information about Sacred Art Gallery (Vice-Burgomaster House) (Drohobych)
The gallery of sacred art in Drohobych was opened in 1996 in a building that was built at the beginning of the 20th century by Vice-Burgomaster Yakub Fayershteyn.
The facade of a small building in the art nouveau style has been completely preserved.
Particularly valuable exhibits are ancient Boykiv icons of the 16th-20th centuries. Also in the exposition: sacred sculpture, decorative carvings, forged crosses, handwritten church books and old prints, priest's clothing, etc.
Галерея сакрального мистецтва в Дрогобичі відкрита в 1996 році у будинку, який було збудовано на початку ХХ століття віцебургомістром Якубом Файєрштейном.
Фасад невеликої будівлі в стилі сецесії повністю зберігся.
Особливо цінні експонати – старовинні бойківські ікони XVI-XX століть. Також в експозиції: сакральна скульптура, декоративне різьблення, ковані хрести, рукописні церковні книги та стародруки, вбрання священиків та інше.
