General information about Hryhoriy Skovoroda Literary Museum (Kovrai)
The Literary Museum of Hryhoriy Skovoroda in the village of Kovrai was created in 1972.
In 1753-1759, the Ukrainian poet, philosopher, man of letters and musician Hryhoriy Skovoroda lived in the Kovrai estate and worked as a tutor in the family of Stepan Tomara. Skovoroda taught Tomara's eldest son various sciences, and he devoted his free time to literary creativity.
In Kovrai, he wrote many poems, which were later included in the famous cycle "The Garden of Divine Songs", including the most famous of them - "Fortune and rights to every city...".
A cellar has been preserved on the site of the Tomara manor.

Літературний музей Григорія Сковороди в селі Коврай створений у 1972 році.
Український поет, філософ, літератор та музикант Григорій Сковорода в 1753-1759 роках жив у ковраївському маєтку та працював вихователем у родині Степана Томари. Сковорода вчив старшого сина Томари різним наукам, а вільний час віддавав літературній творчості.
В Ковраях ним було написано чимало віршів, які згодом увійшли до знаменитого циклу "Сад божественних пісень", в тому числі найвідоміший з них - "Всякому місту вдача і права...".
На місці садиби Томари зберігся льох.
Музей знаходиться на території загальноосвітньої школи. В 2012 році проведено реконструкцію, значно розширено музейну експозицію. Поряд із пам'ятником Григорію Сковороді розбитий парк.
