Собор Успіння Пресвятої Богородиці був побудований орієнтовно в 1671 році на місці, де, за переказами, в давнину знаходилося язичницьке капище зі слов'янськими ідолами. Храм п'ятикупольний, у плані хрестовий. Виконаний у класичному стилі українського бароко.

В 1701 році було проведено реконструкцію, в 1820 році замінено бані та прибудовано дзвіницю.

Нині Успенський собор є діючим храмом УПЦ московського патріархату.
