The monument to the Hero of Ukraine Mykhailo Sikorsky in Pereyaslav was erected in 2023 on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the birth of this famous Ukrainian historian, local historian, founder of museum work in the city of Pereyaslav. Back in the early 1950s, Mykhailo Sikorsky, having just graduated from the History Faculty of Kyiv University, headed the then Pereyaslav-Khmelnytsky Historical Museum, later transforming it into the National Historical and Ethnographic Reserve "Pereyaslav". With his work, he made a significant contribution to the preservation of the Ukrainian national historical and cultural heritage, the acquisition of Pereyaslav's modern appearance and the informal status of a museum city.

The monument to Sikorsky was created by local sculptor Stepan Kutsy. The bronze sculpture depicts the director of the reserve sitting on a bench next to a cracked jug, symbolizing a future museum exhibit, and supposedly greeting guests.

Своєю працею він зробив вагомий внесок у збереження української національної історико-культурної спадщини, набуття Переяславом сучасного вигляду та неформального статусу міста-музею.

Пам'ятник Сікорському виконав місцевий скульптор Степан Куций. Бронзова скульптура зображує директора заповідника, який сидить на лавці поруч із тріснутим глечиком, що символізує майбутній музейний експонат, і нібито зустрічає гостей.
