Reserve
The largest regional landscape park in Ukraine "Mizhrichynsky" is located in the Chernihiv region in the interfluve of the Dnipro and Desna rivers.
Its area is over 102 thousand hectares. The park protects various landscapes of Ukrainian Polissya: taiga forests, protected upland and lowland swamps, glacial sand dunes, etc. Dozens of Red Book species of flora and fauna are found on the territory of the park.
In the village of Otrokhy, which can be considered the informal capital of Mizhrichy, there is the "Mizhrichynska Pushcha" Nature Center, created by the famous ecologist Andriy Sahaydak, and the Museum of Forestry of Polissya (traditional life of the Polishchuks, bird breeding, wickerwork, hunting, fishing, history of forest protection), which introduce visitors to the wildlife and customs of Polissya.
The Mizhrichynska Pushcha Nature Center has laid eco-paths through the swamps of the park, which, in particular, allow you to reach the Holy Lake - a swampy reservoir where rare snow-white water lilies bloom in late May. On the Zhuravlina ecological trail, you can find a beaver hut, a partisan hideout, a pagan temple, see traces of wild animals, etc.
