Palace / manor , Architecture
A neo-Gothic palace in the middle of a landscape park in the village of Mytky in Vinnytsia Region was built in 1904-1905 by Admiral of the Russian Fleet Mykola Chykhachov, a member of the State Council of the Russian Empire. An architectural monument of local significance.
Chykhachov purchased the Mytky estate in the 1860s from Marshal of Podillia Stanislaw Delfin Komar. He built the palace and park complex here for his daughter Sophia (according to legend, in her honor the park layout was made in the shape of the letter S).
The brick palace was built according to the project of architect Leonov. The style of the building is characterized as modern with elements of neo-Gothic and romanticism. Externally, it resembles a British castle. Its decor combines medieval motifs with architectural elements of the early 20th century.
During Soviet rule, the palace housed a secondary school. Now it is the Mytky Gymnasium with a preschool unit.
