Ukrainian Sacred Art Museum

Museum / gallery

The Ukrainian Museum of Sacred Art opened in November 2019 on the territory of the Baron SPA Hotel in the center of the Yaremche resort. The museum presents a unique collection of religious works of the 17th-21st centuries.

The basis of the exposition are rare works of church art, as well as modern icon painting samples, reproduced from the originals. Most of the icons in the museum's exposition repeated the tragic fate of the Ukrainian church and culture. The total ban and destruction of monuments left deep wounds on the canvases themselves, most of which were saved by patron Ivan Havron and restoration artist, head of the restoration department of the Ivano-Frankivsk Museum of Local History Valeriy Tverdokhlib, after undergoing conservation and restoration.

The collection of the Ukrainian Museum of Sacred Art includes more than 60 works. The pearls of the collection are the icons of the 18th century "Saint Luke" and "Descent into Hell".
