Korosten district (Korostenskyi) is located in the northern part of Zhytomyr region, on the territory of Zhytomyr Polissya, on the historical lands of Drevlyany. The river Uzh flows within the district.
The nature reserve fund of the district includes Polissya and Drevlyansky nature reserves, tracts "Stone Village" and "Stviha", Grandfather Lake. Here are such historical and cultural monuments as the ancient Rus St. Basil's Cathedral in Ovruch, Drevlyansky Park and the object "Rock" in Korosten, the Miklouho-Maclay Museum in Malyn.
