The village of Rusiv is located 10 kilometers north of Sniatyn. Administratively, it is part of the Kolomyya district of the Ivano-Frankivsk region.

The Rusiv Literary and Memorial Museum of Vasyl Stefanyk was opened in 1947 in the native village of the classic of Ukrainian literature, the master of the expressionist novel.
